 LIBRARY
UNIVERSITY OF KENTUCKY

FOREWORD

This Bulletin has been prepared as a revision of one issued
April, 1935, and contains the Multiple List of Textbooks adopted on
February 15 and March 1, 1935, by the State Textbook Commission
as authorized in Sections 4421a—38 and 39, Kentucky Statutes.

The purpose of this Bulletin is to give the correct title, the
Wholesale price, retail price, exchange price, and publisher of each
» book adopted for use in the Public Schools of Kentucky during the

years 1935 to 1940.

The Basal Adoption in each subject Will be identified by an
asterisk at the left of the title. These books shall be used by all
County and Independent Districts which were not eligible to make

their own adoptions at the time this adoption was made in 1935.
Cities of the first four classes and County Districts which were
eligible in 1935 to make their own adoptions shall use books adopted
‘ from the Multiple List and designated in contracts made between
the publishers and local school boards. ' The Multiple Contracts run
for a term of five years, terminating in 1940.

This Bulletin contains all reductions in prices since the Basal
and Multiple Contracts were made March 1, 1935. It does not,
however, list increases in prices due to the fact that the terms of the
. contracts are not affected by increases during the life of the contract.

H. W. PETERS,
Superintendent of Public Instruction.
