Dear Carolyn:

Many thanks for the Pavese books. I am well into one of them
and he is a marvelous writer. I returned Suzuki on Mysticism Christian
and Buddhist. I am not yet finished with Briffault, The Mothers which
is marked for August 31. Could I perhaps have it a little longer?

I notice that Muir's Autobiography seems to be marked for that date
too, and I am still working on it.

Do you have these?
M. Harrington — The Accidental Century
E.Conze — Buddhist Meditation (I think I got that from you
before.)
If these are available I would be very happy to have them.

When would you and Victor like to come over again? I still do not
know if there will be new arrangements about doctors, and perhaps it
would be best tony: think of your coming here, say toward the end of Sep
tember or the beginning of October. Please let me know what you think.

With all my best wishes and blessings to you both, in Chr"
