  W. Rankin of Lexington, Ky.,
Q  picked by the house delegates yes-
  terday, became known last night to

  stood in line at a reception and

  Lahey of Boston, and shook
  hands with. nearly 2,000. _
  This large social affair of the
__~; association's 92d annual convention
  occupied the entire mezzanine of
  Hotel Cleveland.
  Dr. Rankin, a man of stocky
@{55 build, forceful manner and dis-
  tinct military bearing, is surgeon
 at_St. Joseph’s and Good Samaritan
  Hospitals in Lexington; During the
jh; war he was a major in the medical
  corps. While ‘in France he was
  attached to the First Army Corps.
  4th and _26th divisions, and was
  commanding officer of Base Hospi-
{,1 tal No. 26. He is now a colonel ir
  the medical corps reserve.
