THE Tobacco market has advanced considerably in the last three rnorrtlrs, owing to various causes—the
advices of short crops in Virginia and Maryland; the diminution of the stocks in Europe; and the high prices of Grain, which may
. · naturally be expected to diminish the culture of Tobacco in the \Vheat growing districts of the United States, as well as in various
_ _ parts of the Continent. Speculators have in consequence bought largely; the sales to them since the lst October are no less than
